I believe that choosing the right photographer is as much about the person as it is about the quaility and style of their work. You can decide for yourself the latter two but the former can be a little more tricky. This is not your usual ‘about me’ piece about capturing memories and helping to make your story live on past your wedding day. Not that this isn’t true – it is – but I wanted to give you an insight into the real me and why I chose to be a photographer to help in your decision as to whether I am the right photographer for you… So here goes!
I wasn’t given a DSLR when I was younger. In fact, it was only 10 years ago that I bought my first one, but when I think back I can’t remember a time I wasn’t the one with the camera round my neck, constantly editing and burning images to disc for friends and family. I loved it then and if anything I love it even more now.
My background is in design, it was the only subject In which I did well at school and I later studied for a degree in the subject. Composition, colour and aesthetics are engrained into me and photography is how I stay true to myself and my creativity. Combine this with the fact that I can be a bit of a geek (shhh don’t tell anyone!) and so the technical side of photography also let’s me be me!
Over the years I have done many types of photography but I now concentrate on those areas which I have a real passion for – Weddings, Lifestyle and Commercial photography.
I love weddings, I am a big (hopeless?) romantic and I am passionate about photography. My first ‘official’ wedding was back in 2011 when I was asked by a friend to photograph her wedding. It was her trust in me that opened up the wonderful world of wedding photography and I haven’t looked back since. Since deciding photography was going to be my future career I have trained with some of the best names in the industry and continue to do so. The world of photography never stops evolving and I am keen to ensure I evolve with it.
One of the most important reasons that I am a photographer is the people. I will never tire of witnessing the ‘sparks’ between a couple who have just pledged their lives to each other. Nor will I get bored of recording a moment in a childs life so that it is remembered for years to come. It warms my heart to be asked to be the person to witness these special moments.
Any why do I love commercial photography? One word – design! From products to architecture, food to shoes, they have all developed from idea to planning to realisation. Quality photography is just as important as this process – whether you wish to sell a product or promote your venue I love to help companies showcase what they have to offer.
So enough about me… if you got this far well done!
I’d love to find out more about you and what brought you to my website today so get in touch and we can chat some more… I look forward to hearing from you.
